  • Tree trunk with extensive root system in a circular excavation

    Root Collar Excavation

    Labor & Travel Expenses

General Labor can run $25 - $50/hour. Some large jobs will require more than one laborer. Labor costs vary by region.

Job costing does not just include the time on the jobsite performing the work. Travel time both to and from the jobsite, as well as initial consultation should be considered. Charging for travel time between jobsites is important to cover overhead costs.

    EXPENSE
    $450 - $1,100/day

  • Compressor

    Air Compressor Rental & Fuel

The AirSpade 2000 Arbor/Landscape Tool requires a 185 cfm (or larger) tow-behind air compressor. While owning an air compressor outright is advantageous for some businesses, air compressors are readily available for rent on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Most rental centers include 50 ft. of air supply hose as well. Rentals for longer periods of time are subject to price breaks.

    EXPENSE
    $200 - $300/day

  • Soil

    Soil Amendments

Depending on the Arboricultural Service being performed, it may be necessary to include soil amendments. Charging separately for the application of bio-stimulants (compost, biochar, mulch) is one pricing strategy but including them within the cost of an AirSpade procedure typically helps the client choose to put a tree’s organic healthcare needs first. Soil testing ahead of a procedure can help determine soil profile needs to better dial in soil amendment recommendations.

    EXPENSE
    $25 - $50/tree
