Overview

Dig smarter with the power of air. The AirSpade 2000 Construction Kit (HT114) equips contractors for utility potholing, non-destructive excavation, and daylighting of buried utilities. Its patented 105 CFM Supersonic Nozzle fires a focused Mach 2 air jet that cuts through compacted soil without a shovel or bucket cutting edge. A 4-ft fiberglass barrel and 3-ft extension provide up to 7 ft of barrel reach, while the 45-degree angled adapter redirects the air jet into tight work areas. The lightweight 10-ft hose and locking case make the complete kit easy to move, set up, and store between jobs. Built for crews who need power, precision, and proven reliability in tough conditions. Proudly assembled in the USA.

How does AirSpade work?

AirSpade's patented supersonic nozzle creates a focused Mach 2 air jet that fractures soil while leaving roots, utilities, pipes, and cables largely unharmed.

Which AirSpade series is right for me?

The right series depends on your application, preferred handle style, and compressor capacity. The 2000 Series is designed for arbor and landscape work, the 4000 Series is built for utility excavation, and the 5000 Series features an inline handle design and is available in both Arbor and Utility configurations. Compare all series in our AirSpade Series Comparison Guide.

What size air compressor do I need?

Your compressor should be rated higher than the AirSpade nozzle you are using. Using a compressor that is too small will reduce performance. See our Compressed Air Requirements Guide.

What size nozzle should I use?

Nozzle selection depends on the desired excavation rate and available airflow. Larger nozzles excavate faster but require more air. Read more on Digging with AirSpade.

In what types of soil will an AirSpade work?

AirSpade works in most soils, including compacted and hard clay. It is generally not effective in solid rock or hard frozen ground. Learn more in our Soil Characteristics Guide.

What size air hose do I need?

Air hose size affects pressure and performance. For most AirSpade applications, 1-inch ID hose or larger is recommended. See our Compressed Air Requirements Guide.

Will higher pressure make the AirSpade work better?

No. AirSpade nozzles are designed to operate optimally at 90 psig. Higher pressure can actually reduce performance while consuming more air.
